4 day riding tour adventure for experienced riders, which combines some of the best that Icelandic riding has to offer. Great horses, beautiful scenery, comfort and adventure.
3 out of 4 days we travel with Rekstur which is an Icelandic word for a riding tour with a herd of free running horses running with the riders. We estimate each participant will ride 3-4 horses per day. Riders will not be assigned one single horse for the duration of the tour, giving all riders the opportunity to try as many horses as possible.
It´s a small group tour with a maximum of 8 participants plus staff.
We base our operation in Skjaldarvik in North-Iceland only a few kilometers from Akureyri, the capital of the North. That´s where our accommodation will be, our home away from home. Except that the 3rd night offers the chance of an overnight stay in an old turf house Baugasel, located in Barkárdalur, this stay will take you back in time about 100 years. You will be surrounded by nature and nothing that gives a hint of modern times. It´s an adventure of a lifetime; primitive, basic, no electricity, no running water, no Wi-Fi! At the same time it will be so relaxed, beautiful and unwinding.

Check in, introduction of participants, staff and horses
2 short riding tours per person (approx... 30 min per tour, for you to know some of the horses and for us to know a bit better about your riding skills)

Day 2,

Preparation
Riding tour Rekstur to Skriða in Hörgárdalur (approx. 20 kilometers, 4 stints)
Short sightseeing in Skriða, a horse and dairy farm.
We overnight the horses in Skriða and head back home to Skjaldarvik by car
